The Sleeping Lion Inn is located on beautiful Otsego Lake, 6.5 miles from downtown Cooperstown and 11 miles from DreamPark. Sleeping Lion features four separate suites. Guests may rent one suite or multiple units, depending on the size of their group.
Each suite has a private bath, kitchenette and a sitting area with a view of the lake, plus a deck. The Inn got its name because the rolling hills on the opposite side of the lake resemble the profile of a sleeping lion.
This charming lodge was built in the 1940s, but was completely renovated in 2004 and then updated again in 2012. The v-groove wooden pine walls have been maintained in the spirit of Adirondack decor. Contemporary kitchenettes and bathrooms have been added.
All guests are invited to enjoy fishing from the dock on the private waterfront bank or just relax and enjoy the mesmerizing view. For an additional fee, the owner has a pontoon boat available for rental.
Sleeping Lion Inn is built into the side of a scenic slope overlooking Otsego Lake, which is a natural glacier lake. When you look out over the water at Sleeping Lion Mountain, you will find its beauty hard to put into words.
We are also located in the heart of antique country so leave plenty of time to shop and browse the area’s many stores. If golf is your choice we have two golf courses within a five-minute drive. If fishing, swimming, water skiing or just relaxing are on your mind, we have that as well. This is a great place to simply sit on the lake, read a book and do nothing else.

We excel at WEEKLY RENTALS for individual families or larger groups! Don’t get squeezed into a loud, dated motel room when you can be in your own modern lakeside property! Rent one unit or multiple units depending on the size of your group. Everyone in your party gets to enjoys their privacy and have their own kitchen and bath space. You can rent the entire Inn for roughly the same or less as the price of a house rental.
