Get away from the CDP madness for some peace and quiet. We were in Cooperstown for the CDP tournament. Sleeping Lion lived up to all our expectations; the views were fantastic and it was a great place to wind down and relax away from all the craziness of the tournament and downtown Cooperstown. Greg Noonan did everything he could to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. While it is a short drive to downtown and CDP, we very much enjoyed the ability to find some piece and quiet away from all the commotion.

Wow! It’s always a risk when you rent a house sight unseen. We hit gold. The Sleeping Lion  was perfect. The view was stunning and a perfect distance from downtown and the ballpark.   We stayed on the other side of the lake last time and this side is preferred (the distance is less and drive is not as frightening with hairpin curves at 50mph in the pitch black!)

The fishing was spectacular. We caught a dozen fish (four different types) off the dock. The kids were in heaven. The owner was incredible: friendly, gracious and very accommodating. The house suited our needs. The rest of our time was spent outside enjoying the fabulous lake and baseball. See ya in three years, Greg!

While my son played baseball in Dreams Park (23 min away) we got to escape to the lake in between games. We had all the comforts of home PLUS the lake –- swimming, boating, rowing, fishing, fire pit, gas and charcoal grill and a deck that over looks it all! The owner’s hospitality was exceptional! Couldn’t have felt more welcome. We love the Sleeping Lion!

Lakeside luxury at the Sleeping Lion! As Mark Twain might say, you can go to heaven if you want, but I’ll stay at the Sleeping Lion. Visiting this unique Inn was a remarkable experience. With views overlooking the majestic Lake Otswego, a trip to the Sleeping Lion makes the perfect family getaway, romantic rendezvous, or in my case, lakeside luxury for the business traveler. There are ample water sports activities to enjoy, great fishing, easy access to numerous NY businesses and attractions, plus you might have the good fortune to see native wildlife like nesting bald eagles. And if you time it right, you can see a moon rise that you will never forget. If this wasn’t enough, the staff at the Lion make you feel like family. If your plans include time in Cooperstown, NY, the Sleeping Lion is the choice for you.
